The Veolia Foundation serves as the Secretariat of the Global Alliance Against Cholera, represented by David Poinard, Executive Officer.

Since 2005, the [Veolia Foundation](http://fondation.veolia.com/en/) (headquarted in Paris, France) has financed and led an extensive s[eries of epidemiological and hydrology studies ](http://fondation.veolia.com/en/actions/projects/10SD1223,battling-cholera-epidemics.htm)in the Eastern part of the [Democratic Republic of Congo](https://fondation.veolia.com/en/long-term-program-combat-cholera-3). The technical and financial support of the Foundation is directed toward reinforcing the locally involved agencies (Non governmental organizations, and municipal water and health service agencies …) that are responsible for the implementation of cholera elimination activities in targeted areas.
