UN chief steps up for the fight against cholera epidemic in Haiti

On Monday 14th of July 2014, an overall sanitation program was launched in Haiti by Ban Ki Moon, the Secretary General of the United Nations in order to eliminate the cholera epidemics that caused the death of 8,500 inhabitants since 2010. 

Ban Ki Moon underscored the importance of a financial support granted by the international community for an efficient and sustainable fight against cholera. He is seeking a financial support of 2.2 billion of dollars from international organizations.
